ROB & DIANE VAN HAAREN
Rob and Diane are well-known and loved international teachers, performers and choreographers. They started dancing back in the 1990’s during the start of the Swing revival, and have become popular instructors at dance camps the world over. Here in California, they were instrumental in building a strong Swing community both in San Francisco and Ventura. Now living in Texas, they have again established a large following at their home base, and enjoy sharing and spreading their love for dancing.
One of the most creative and inventive dancers we know, Jacob became hooked on Swing and Balboa dancing in 2003, and within a span of only a few years, he had made a name for himself and was taking first place in numerous balboa competitions around the globe. He has been a guest instructor at many events, both nationally and internationally, and is well-loved for his creative and fun approach.
Lindy hopper and Balboa dancer extraordinaire, Augie first became hooked on dancing while in the U.S. Military and stationed in California. Since then, he has competed and taught at dance camps around the world. Augie is a master at teaching beginning through advanced dancers how to improve their technique and musicality.
Natalia was born in Russia, but moved to California when she was eight. She discovered Swing dancing in 2010 and immediately fell in love with the dance and the Lindy Hop community. She quickly gained recognition as a teacher, dancer and performer.
Co-founder and leader of the award-winning dance troupe The Bobbysox Brigade, Jofflyn Valencia started dancing in the early 90’s, and immediately became addicted to Swing. Now a recognized instructor at local and international Swing events, (including PBDA) Jofflyn specializes in Charleston, emphasizing the whimsy and fun!
From his home base as a instructor at Pomona's Metro Swing, Josiah is a recent 1st place winner at the L.A. Shag Festival and a mover and a shaker in the Swing community. His musicality and creativity never cease to inspire. He is partnering at this camp with MEGAN AVENI, and we are happy to have them both joining us.
